SOT Round 4: Everything

Envy head spun, she couldn't stand up straight. She almost forgot why se was where she was now, she had fallen into a portal. Again. She believed this was the third- to fourth time according to her brain's "records". And once again, she had no idea where she was.
"Where am I?" She thought and looked around, blackness (also once more).
"A good question." She heard her friend Hex, the ghost wolf, said sounding tired.
"You can hear what I'm thinking?" She asked and Hex tilted his head.
"Sort of, in this place I can." He said. His ghastly glow the only light. It gave her the memory of when they first met. She finally got her senses back. She had a mission to complete.
"Mission…that's a interesting thing to call it." Hex said. Envy looked at him oddly.
"What else would it be? Destiny?" She asked. He just smiled, turned and started walking. She ran after him. Portals started appearing up here and there.

The darkness
The light
The carnage
The sight
The hidden
The alive
The demise
They all look the same
They all are so familiar
As they play this time game
Across the sands of time…

This rang through Envy's head. She looked to Hex who paused. He listened to the echoes.
"Something knows we are here." He said.
"Where's here?" Envy asked. Hex shrugged.
Portals appeared and Envy realized that some of them were of recent advents with her time in the Time Yard.
Time…
She growled at the obviousness. Colors flew past her eyes of various scenes. She jumped as one was of a gun shot, another of a nuclear bomb. Hex looked at the one, it was a man flipping a coin. Envy couldn't help but to look at the one. It was of a mother looking dreamily and with care at her child as it slept, the mother looked proud. Envy wondered if her mom was like that.
Envy kept looking. Perhaps they were here for a reason. Miya and Mari, that's why, but was the answer truly here? Then again went back to the question one; "what was here?"
Now faces started popping up now. She saw Father Time, Griffan, Kronos, what looked like the devil himself and the rest were either familiar or she didn't recognize. She looked at scenes of history and such when one made her snap back to the attention of her mission, she saw Mia and Mari but it was from a past event.
"We're getting close." Hex said. Envy nodded with agreement, it wasn't truly them, but it was a sign.
She kept walking, she jumped a couple of times because they were of laughs of pure evil, non pleasant. One bothered her the most, and that was Griffans. His psychotic laugh made her nervous. Hex growled at the one portal that showed Griffan, just like a puppy would growl at its own reflection. Envy couldn't help but give a little laugh. She didn't smile though. Hex gave her a sympathetic glance.
"Things will get better, I know it will." He said. She just simply shrugged.
It took a while but they eventually came back to that same portal that should Mia and Mari from the past, but this time it rippled and changed. It turned into only Mari.
Mari, it was Mari, right there, and this time Envy knew it was the real one.
"Hex!" She said and pointed. Hex whipped his head in the direction. Mari looked tired and beaten. She was lying on the floor of some place that looked like a prison. Envy
gawked at it when the portal started to close. " No!" Envy yelled running towards it. She reached inside grabbing Mari's scarf but made sure not to grab the ends so Envy wouldn't choke her. Envy pulled and dragged her out. Mari feel to the ground limp and Envy feel backwards. Envy got right back to her feet and ran over to Mari, falling to her knees next her.
"Mari!" She said trying to shake her awake. Mari growled drowsily. Hex came over and nudged her with his muzzle. Mari's eyes flickered open.
"Wha-where am I?" She then jumped up and growled. She snarled " Who are you?!"
Envy scrambled back.
"Easy! I'm with the Time officers! I-I…I can't believe we found you!" She said shocked, Mari expression of anger went to neutral. " Jenna, she sent us…" Envy added. Mari looked around confused.
"Jenna?" Mari asked and Envy got up and nodded. Envy thought for a sec and even though it was very rare, she smiled.
"I'm guessing we should get you back…home." Hex said and Mari looked to the spyro. Envy questioned the "home" part. It wasn't really a home; it was more of a place to stay if lost…
"Yeah…home…" Mari muttered. Mari then managed a smile herself. " Yeah, lets go" She said as they then set out.
Envy, Mari, and Hex searched for the way back "home".
